Vendor Appreciation Day

After several conversations with our produce vendors, the Ashland Farmers Market Board of Directors has decided to add an additional Market Day and extend our 2017 season through October 14.  We love our vendors and all they bring to this market so let’s take this extra day to say Thank You and stock up on essentials until we meet again at the Pre-Thanksgiving market.

After years of managing digestive issues Sharon discovered the medicinal effects, and great taste, of old fashioned salt brine pickling also known as Lacto-Fermentation. This is an ancient pickling process that uses homemade salt brine to preserve freshly harvested vegetables. People throughout history have used this simple method to preserve their excess harvest through the winter. Lacto-Fermentation fosters the growth of friendly bacteria to preserve the vegetables and these same bacteria help to maintain the natural balance of bacteria in our intestines. This
    can be healing for people with digestive issues. Come learn this easy technique and start fermenting the Bounty of the Fall Harvest!! (Note: this demo will happen 2-3 times during the market.)
